Types of cookies according to how long they remain active:

• Persistent cookies: those in which the data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which may range from a few minutes to several years.

• PHPSESSID: a strictly necessary technical cookie containing the session identifier. It is deleted when the browser is closed.
• _ga: a Google Analytics Universal cookie that enables the unique-visit control function. This cookie is installed the first time a user visits the website through a browser. When that user visits the website again with the same browser, the cookie will treat them as the same user. Only if the user changes browser will they be counted as a different user. It expires 2 years after the last update.
• _gat: this cookie is associated with Google Analytics Universal. It is used to limit the request rate — limiting data collection on high-traffic sites. It expires after 10 minutes.
• _utma: a Google Analytics cookie that records the date of the user’s first and last visit to the website. It expires 2 years after the last update.
• _utmb: a Google Analytics cookie that records the time of arrival at the website. It expires 30 minutes after the last update.
• _utmc: a Google Analytics cookie used for interoperability with the urchin.js tracking code. It is deleted when the browser is closed.
• _utmt: a Google Analytics cookie used to process the type of request made by the user. It expires at the end of the session.
• _utmv: a Google Analytics cookie used to segment demographic data. It expires at the end of the session.
• _utmz: a Google Analytics cookie that stores the traffic source or campaign to explain how the user reached the website. It expires 6 months after the last update.
